Parking Alcalá del Júcar
Parking - Toll ParkingAlcalá del Júcar se encuentra situado en el noroeste de la provincia de Albacete, englobado dentro de la comarca de La Manchuela. Fue declarado conjunto Histórico-Artístico en 1982. En 1986 le fue concedido el tercer premio, después de la Torre Eiffel y la Gran Mezquita de Estambul, a la mejor iluminación artística. El 30 de mayo de 1998 en Villanueva de los Infantes, el Ayuntamiento recibió de la Junta de Comunidades de Castilla La Mancha, el “Premio de Turismo 1998”, por su labor en la promoción y desarrollo turístico.
Es uno de los pueblos más espectaculares y pintorescos de la provincia de Albacete; su situación y el excepcional paisaje que forman la hoz del Júcar, hacen que en cuanto aparece ante nuestros ojos, sintamos la necesidad de detener la marcha para poderlo contemplar en toda su grandiosidad.
Sus casas de arquitectura popular, excavadas en la montaña, se adaptan al terreno en calles estrechas y empinadas, trepando hacia el Castillo que se asoma a la hoz que forma a sus pies el río. Su población se encuentra dividida en 6 núcleos:
Se sabe que hacia el siglo XI fue fortaleza musulmana y que formaba parte de la línea defensiva que los árabes construyeron en las riberas del río, para contener la creciente presión de los reyes cristianos.
No debes perderte la visita al Castillo, al Puente Romano, su Plaza de Toros, la preciosa Ermita de San Lorenzo y la Iglesia de San Andrés.
La peculiar situación del pueblo permite que la mayoría de las casas estén excavadas en la propia montaña, con cuevas de tal longitud que llegan hasta el extremo de la peña sobre la que se asienta la villa. Tres de estas cuevas se pueden visitar.

We arrived one night around 1, since we are traveling with a car-caravan group, and during the day it would have been difficult for us to maneuver as there were more cars. I previously called the town hall to make sure we could spend the night, and they didn't give me a problem. Indeed we slept in luxury with the sound of the Júcar de Fonfo river, but in the morning the area guard knocked on our door rudely saying that we had to go to a campsite. I explained to him that the city council didn't give me any problems and he told me that he didn't care, that if I didn't leave he would call the civil guard. I don't give it 5 hearts for this reason, because the place is very well located and has its charm. With some frustration and without wanting to start our vacation with problems, we left the place and found a very quiet and pleasant location in another part of the town where neither the neighbors nor the civil guard who passed by several times gave us any trouble.

Nice town to see. The parking lot is not for motorhomes, they allow parking, but weekends and long weekends are full of cars and there is hardly any room left. It would be nice if they reserved places for motorhomes and conditioned it better

We have spent a weekend park us in the parking lot, a good place to leave the motorhome 2 € 24 h. The town is very beautiful, very much! We will repeat for sure.
