L'Èbre qui traverse les terres des Merindades, au nord de Burgos, laisse sur ses rives la belle ville de Frías, la plus petite d'Espagne. Sa silhouette surprenante sur un rocher est encadrée par l'imposant pic Humión, le plus haut du Parc Naturel des Montes Obarenes.
Le château de Velasco et l'église de San Vicente Mártir président ce complexe artistique historique. Autour de ces bâtiments se groupaient les maisons suspendues accrochées au rocher, défiant les lois de la gravité.
En 1202, Alfonso VIII accorda des privilèges à Frías et favorisa son développement économique. Frías, qui dépendait auparavant de la Navarre, retourne en Castille. Déjà en 1435, Juan II lui accorde le titre de Ville. Celui-ci le change en Pedro Fernández de Velasco pour Peñafiel. Qui voulait soumettre la ville, lui ôter les privilèges et privilèges, faire se soulever le peuple contre lui, donnant ainsi naissance au Captain's Party, organisé le week-end suivant le 24 juin.

Good area, with services and an acceptable ground level.The town with this area has been able to capture a tourist sector that larger cities omit. The only drawback is the payment method, since you have to go up to the castle to pay. I think the icing on the cake could be a machine or a person coming over 1-2 times a day.

The town is beautiful, the motorhome area is dirt but it is quite good, a very quiet place.

A priori it seems that they send you down there separated from everything, but the area is very good because it is very quiet to spend the night. There is an old laundry with a stream in the back, with grass and picnic tables, people go to sunbathe with chairs. To go up to the town, the best thing to do is take the first stairs that you see on the left. The tourist office to pay is next to the castle.
